DOCTORAL SCHOOL | |||||
The CRIMT Doctoral School takes place on an annual basis. Over the last eight years, it has brought together (over a period of three to four days) the successive cohorts of PhD students involved in our SSHRC-MCRI Projects - including foreign students mobilizing their own institutional resources. Each year, the Doctoral School gives an opportunity to over thirty PhD students to discuss research methods, learn the basics of writing and of conference presentations, and exchange ideas with leading researchers in their field. The CRIMT Doctoral School usually coincide with a major event (an international conference, the Congress of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association, biannual meetings of CRIMT's SSHRC-MCRI cosearchers, etc.), which increases learning opportunities while minimizing transaction costs. It also promotes networking among young researchers; relationships (and friendships) that later materialize into joint presentations, publications and grant applications. |
